Guruji in Florida in March 2008
The official Ashtanga website AYRI.org recently posted the following message from Guruji:
My beloved students,
For the last 30 years I have been visiting the United Stats to spread my teachings. With great pleasure, I am proud to announce the opening of my new yoga center in Florida.
I would like to invite each and every one of you to join myself, my daughter Saraswathi and my grandson Sharath for the grand opening party on March 14th, followed by a 2-week workshop. This will be our only visit to the United States in 2008. I look forward to seeing you there!

The dates are March 15 to 27 2008.
It will cost $300 for the first week and $200 for the second week. There is a link to Paypal for payment online too.

Larry,
The person to contact is Shiva, who lives about two doors down from the Shala and his niche is linking up yoga students with reasonably priced lodgings. (He found me a great place for a month for 6,000 rupees - about USD$150.00) His contacts:

Also, if you do a google search for “studying yoga in Mysore”, the yoga holidays website link has a lot of great tips, although the Kevin Kimple Guesthouse is called something else now and they’re w-a-a-y too expensive anyway. I would go to Tina’s (the breakfast lady) or Anu’s (the lunch and dinner lady) and stay there first for a night or a weekend, until Shiva finds you something. Oh! Here’s the link!

There is a campground located on Long Key which is about 20 miles south of the shala. All of the campsites are right on the ocean and have beautiful sunrise views. Hope this helps.

Okay, I just called the company which confirmed our registration, and they said that the second week was cancelled, but that first week was still on, with Sharath and Saraswathi in attendance.
